Silver prices surged on Monday, climbing Rs 465 to reach Rs 81,836 per kilogram in the futures market. This rise was driven by participants expanding their bets due to robust spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), silver contracts for September delivery witnessed an increase of Rs 465, or 0.57 percent, bringing the price to Rs 81,836 per kg across 28,772 lots.
Analysts attributed the hike in silver prices to the fresh positions established by traders, reflecting a positive domestic trend.
On the global front, silver was trading higher by 0.43 percent at USD 28.14 per ounce in New York.
