In early trade on Monday, the price of 24-carat gold dropped by Rs 10, with ten grams of the precious metal now selling for Rs 72,540.Silver also saw a decline, falling by Rs 100 per kilogram, bringing its price to Rs 90,900.
The cost of 22-carat gold similarly decreased by Rs 10, with the current rate at Rs 66,490 for ten grams.
In Mumbai, the price of ten grams of 24-carat gold matches the rates in Kolkata and Hyderabad at Rs 72,540. Prices in Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai are slightly varied, with ten grams of 24-carat gold priced at Rs 72,690, Rs 72,540, and Rs 73,140, respectively.
For 22-carat gold, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Hyderabad share the same price of Rs 66,490 per ten grams. In Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai, the rates stand at Rs 66,640, Rs 66,490, and Rs 67,040, respectively.
Silver prices also saw a decline across major cities. In Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata, the price of one kilogram of silver is consistent at Rs 90,900, while in Chennai, it stands higher at Rs 95,500.
On the international front, US gold prices edged lower on Monday due to higher US Treasury yields. Investors are closely monitoring upcoming economic data to anticipate the Federal Reserve’s next move on interest rates. Spot gold fell by 0.3% to $2,326.78 per ounce as of 0126 GMT, and US gold futures decreased by 0.3% to $2,341.70 per ounce. Spot silver also dropped by 0.3% to $29.46 per ounce. Meanwhile, platinum remained steady at $957.57, and palladium saw a gain of 0.5%, rising to $894.37.
