Currently, 73 percent of the wheat crop has been harvested, with an impressive 73 percent of the crop rated as good to excellent.
Kentucky’s corn crop also shows promising signs, with 65 percent rated as good to excellent. Planting progress stands at 97 percent, emergence at 93 percent, and 9 percent of the crop is now silking.
Soybeans in the region are similarly thriving, with 63 percent rated as good to excellent. Planting is at 86 percent, emergence at 74 percent, and 5 percent of soybeans are blooming.
In tobacco farming, 87 percent of the crop has been set, achieving a strong rating of 77 percent good to excellent.
Pastures across Kentucky are flourishing, rated at 73 percent good to excellent, while the first cutting of hay is 88 percent complete, with a quality rating of 78 percent good to excellent.
However, there has been a notable decrease in soil moisture levels over the past week. Topsoil moisture now stands at 61 percent adequate to surplus, while subsoil moisture is reported at 71 percent adequate to surplus.
